The Manifesto for Agile Software Development

We are uncovering better ways of developing software by doing it and helping others do it. Through this work we have come to value:

Individuals and interactions over processes and tools
Working software over comprehensive documentation
Customer collaboration over contract negotiation
Responding to change over following a plan

That is, while there is value in the items on the right, we value the items on the left more.

Fabián Fallas Moya: (UCR) What to use? Agile or nor? ... it all depends on the project needs, or maybe we could have something with the two flavors. But the majority of the cases Agile is gonna win!
Simon Martin: (http://www.sjmdev.com) Agile puts a human face on developing software, it is 'almost' common sense to work this way. An automaton could embrace the items on the right as *the way* but a person is needed to value the items on the left.

Andrew Webster: I've worked on around 60 projects. Of those, six used an agile approach. Those six were successes - the customers where delighted with the outcome. The others were failures - late, over budget, did not do what was required, or simply gave up. Agile works.

Samuel Rundström: I've recently ended a study in projectmanagement and had my field research in a Swedish Project Consulting Company. This Company consults the Swedish state and different kind of institutions in their projects. Without knowing what the Agile manifesto was and without knowing what its offspring of different methods is they use the agile filosophies, I think, to their full extend. This without being in the programming and software systemdevelopment business. Remarkeable. Proves agile can be applied into so much more than its platform of origin .
