We are uncovering better ways of developing software by doing it and helping others do it. Through this work we have come to value:

Individuals and interactions over processes and tools
Working software over comprehensive documentation
Customer collaboration over contract negotiation
Responding to change over following a plan

That is, while there is value in the items on the right, we value the items on the left more.

Especially in data warehousing were until now a lot of effort is wasted in writing 'requirement document' as with the proper approach you should build on the design for change philosophy

Over the last couple of years I've been exploring ways to integrate UX design effectively and efficiently with agile software engineering. The principles outlined in the Agile Manifesto surprisingly well correlate with modern user experience design and development best practices, even though the Agile Manifesto was not initially embracing the UX design discipline.

Rick-Rainer Ludwig: (PureSol Technologies) Partnership in development is always better than developments in many different groups without any interactions between them. Synthesis is almost not possible then. Agile Software Development is the best example how to develop software in a team where all strengths of the individuals are used in a dynamic way and where after a separation of subsystem within the team the synthesis of the final system can happen. Additionally, one reaches a kind of flexibility which is needed in the current rapidly changing world where software is developed with currently changing specifications, needs and expectations.

Ariel Romeo: I agree with this methodology, this is a great approach to organize the team's work.
Darrel Damon: I had the pleasure of working with a SCRUM team for two years. It was truly eye-opening and breath taking to see how fast and how well we could build software. Since leaving that particular team, I have implemented the same methodologies in a one developer team (myself) where I fill all the traditional roles of ScrumMaster, BA, developer, QA, etc, while still maintaining daily contact with the customer. The principals work as well for a one-man development effort as they do for a full-blown team.
