Rick-Rainer Ludwig: (PureSol Technologies) Partnership in development is always better than developments in many different groups without any interactions between them. Synthesis is almost not possible then. Agile Software Development is the best example how to develop software in a team where all strengths of the individuals are used in a dynamic way and where after a separation of subsystem within the team the synthesis of the final system can happen. Additionally, one reaches a kind of flexibility which is needed in the current rapidly changing world where software is developed with currently changing specifications, needs and expectations.

Darrel Damon: I had the pleasure of working with a SCRUM team for two years. It was truly eye-opening and breath taking to see how fast and how well we could build software. Since leaving that particular team, I have implemented the same methodologies in a one developer team (myself) where I fill all the traditional roles of ScrumMaster, BA, developer, QA, etc, while still maintaining daily contact with the customer. The principals work as well for a one-man development effort as they do for a full-blown team.
