We are uncovering better ways of developing software by doing it and helping others do it. Through this work we have come to value:

Individuals and interactions over processes and tools
Working software over comprehensive documentation
Customer collaboration over contract negotiation
Responding to change over following a plan

That is, while there is value in the items on the right, we value the items on the left more.

Howard Chalmers: (NCR) I have been working with agile principles and coaching teams on being agile, not just "doing agile", for almost 10 years, and there is no doubt that the teams that are willing to commit to the concepts laid out in the agile manifesto become better teams and deliver better software. Sometimes you have to slow down a little to get faster in the long run.
