Independent Signatories of
The Manifesto for Agile Software Development

We are uncovering better ways of developing software by doing it and helping others do it. Through this work we have come to value:
  • Individuals and interactions over processes and tools
  • Working software over comprehensive documentation
  • Customer collaboration over contract negotiation
  • Responding to change over following a plan

That is, while there is value in the items on the right, we value the items on the left more.

Tim Long: (Tigra Astronomy) I have been a professional developer since the early 1980s in the fields of embedded software, communications and more recently astronomy. Throughout my career as a developer I have always had a commitment to adopting modern practices and customer involvement at every stage of a project. I have seen projects fail because of a laughable disregard of best practices ("We don't have time to use version control" -- I kid you not!). Agile practices seem to me to be self-evidently better than the all-or-nothing approaches of the past. Do a little bit, do it often, focus on quality, keep the customer involved, make mid-flight course corrections, avoid unnecessary bureaucracy. How can this be wrong?
Iñaky: (http://7lemprendedores.com) We love agile! All my support for the Agile Manifesto. We always work with agile methodologies in our company!

After 3 years of implementation with around 30 team members and dozens of involved organizations I know that the values expressed in the manifesto are right. In the begin I was only believing they are. In this time they helped me to lead my actions and to persuade others. Now they are part of the way I look at projects an organizations.
Jaroslaw Pawlak.
