Individuals and interactions over processes and tools
Working software over comprehensive documentation
Customer collaboration over contract negotiation
Responding to change over following a plan

That is, while there is value in the items on the right, we value the items on the left more.

Philip Kellingley: I've been a fan of SCRUM since its introduction and I've used it many times. Agile is a natural development which enables business to be involved in the production of software and software people to understand the needs of business. In many ways it reverts back to the early days of IT when I used to be 'systems analyst' and programmer rolled into one. Bottom line - it delivers.
