The Manifesto for Agile Software Development

We are uncovering better ways of developing software by doing it and helping others do it. Through this work we have come to value:
  • Individuals and interactions over processes and tools
  • Working software over comprehensive documentation
  • Customer collaboration over contract negotiation
  • Responding to change over following a plan

That is, while there is value in the items on the right, we value the items on the left more.

Ian Carroll: (Solutioneers) Delivering software is hard and no methodology will make it easy. But, Agile makes it much easier to deliver software.
Michelangelo Altamore: ( Your principles are effective. My experience in the software development has confirmed that. Thus I make my public commitment to follow them and to help others to do the same. Thank you.

Ganesh: (NathCorp) I migrate apps over to Vista and make sure that the transition from Windows XP to Windows Vista is smooth. From what I have learned through trial and error, when there are too many unknown's in a project which is usually the case in Vista Migration, following agile methodology and principles is most efficient. Ganesh (Vista Migration Expert)
Steve Randolph: (Information Delivery Systems, Inc.) 20 years of Agile Programming and I didn't even know it had a name!

Neil Macdonald: (UXC Management Consulting) Having worked in the financial services industry for over 25 years - I've always known that focussing on the items on the left are crticial to make significant and sustainable change!
Clément Bouillier: I totally agree with this manifesto, I think it will be a growing approach. At least I hope, I do not believe in traditional 'heavy' methodologies to lead to successful projects, depends on what we call success ;). Personnaly, I think success is valuable softwares for customers, i.e. that answer to their needs.
Jodok Batlogg: (Lovely Systems)
Jeanine Velthove-van Velzen: (Twisted Pair bv) Involvement, don't leave before it works!

Tim Bosch: (Foliage) We believe that agile software development approaches can be used for regulated software development efforts, such as for medical devices, medical information systems, and other mission and life critical systems, and still maintain required design controls.
Dietmar Mayer: (SMARTDevelop) - a smart way to build well accepted applications !
Eric Brooks: ( Very interested in agile development. The focus on individuals and software is correct. I've seen what happens when paperwork rules and nothing gets done. I've seen what happens when people work in separate silos of productivity and their work never coalesces into a viable deliverable. I've seen what happens when the customer or user is forgotten. I support the goals of agile development completely.
Nirmalya Ghosh: (Cognizant) Agile is driven by nature! In the context of software solution our best interest is refining methodologies, expertise, tools and technologies to meet the demand of changing nature.
Luis Fernando Alfaro: (Babel Software)
Vijay Venkataraman: Be Agile - Be happy.
Daniel Capo Sobral: The right column is like taking a car insurance. Or, at least, that's how it usually works. The left column is like learning to drive better and drive defensively. Both are importants, but the left column really is more important.

Dave Harris: (The Fenway Group)
Ajay Thakur: (Trimble Navigation Ltd) As a product manager agile helps me to get the product out instead of documentation & project plans (that are never delivered).
Robert Dempsey: (Atlantic Dominion Solutions) Agile development changed the way we develop software and do business at ADS. We are happily not going back to the old way of doing things.
Derek Scollon: (Scotweb Solutions Ltd.) Over the years, I've had to use pieces of software written using "traditional" development techniques. The experience has been largely painful. Being able to see many ways that software could have been improved by timely feedback from real end users, I decided to start using agile techniques in my own development work.
